Dr. Thomas Louis Van Gestel (he/them) graduated from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) with a master's degree in Medicine, and is currently undertaking a complementary master's degree in Family Medicine. After his clinical internships, his interest for Palliative Care also steered him towards the End-of-Life Care research group. And now he is working on qualitative research concerning bereavement care between family physicians and the family of palliative patients.

Supervisors: Prof. Dr. Ann Roex, Prof. Dr. Hakki Demirkapu, and Prof. Aline De Vleminck.

Master's thesis topic (2022-2025): creating a new questionnaire for objectifying sexual health problems in chronic back pain patients - a literature review and an online Delphi study.
