
Sara Debulpaep
Biography
Sara Debulpaep is a pediatric Clinical Expert in multidisciplinary settings, caring for children with often life-limiting conditions. As a Clinical Investigator with the End of Life Care Research Group, she contributes to studies addressing pediatric palliative care's medical, emotional, and ethical challenges. A central focus of her work is Advanced Care Planning (ACP) in pediatric care, ensuring that children and their families are actively involved in care decisions. She also focuses on pain prevention, palliative sedation, and effective communication between healthcare providers and children. She completed the PALM training (Permanente vorming in Palliatieve zorg voor Medici en Masters), emphasizing the care, treatment, and support of patients with severe, incurable illnesses. Driven by a passion for bridging clinical practice and academia, her work aims to ensure that children receive the highest standard of care.
