Laure Dombrecht
Biography
MSc, PhD - Experimental Psychologist
Dr. Laure Dombrecht is a senior researcher at the End-of-Life Care Research Group (Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Ghent University), where she conducts research on perinatal and pediatric palliative care. Her research spans the ethical, clinical, and psychosocial dimensions of end-of-life care for neonates, infants, children, young people and their families, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement and evidence-based program development. Laure’s research is characterized by its interdisciplinary approach to improve outcomes for families and support healthcare professionals in emotionally complex care settings.
She is co-chair of the research groups’ “Palliative Care for People with Cancer” programme with a specific focus on children, and she is a member of the European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC) Task Force on Children and Young People.
