Joran Geeraerts
Biography
Joran Geeraerts is a postdoctoral researcher at the End-of-Life Care Research Group of Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) & Ghent University. He currently works on the ERC-funded project ‘TRAJECT’ led by Prof. Dr. Lara Pivodic. His research focuses on the symptoms and wellbeing of people living with serious illness.
He primarily specializes in the use of quantitative methodologies for longitudinal assessment, while often integrating qualitative approaches. His work includes detailed analyses of symptom and wellbeing trajectories in the daily lives of people with advanced cancer, the development of a questionnaire to comprehensively assess such symptoms and wellbeing trajectories, and methodological evaluations of experience sampling methods in vulnerable populations.
Joran holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Brussel and an MSc in Psychology: Theory and Research from KU Leuven. He is a member of the EORTC Quality of Life Group.
