Gerlinde Hollevoet obtained her master's degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology from the KU Leuven in 2016. She conducted the research for her master's thesis while doing voluntary work at TOPAZ, a daycentre for people with life-threatening illnesses. She joined the End-of-Life Care Research Group at Vrije Universiteit Brussel in 2025 as a PhD researcher on the CONNECT project, where she will be focusing on understanding patterns of inequity in social connection for people confronted with serious illness, dying or bereavement.
