The EOLinPLACE Project Team and the EAPC Public Health & Palliative Care Reference Group invite you to a joint event pre-19th World Congress of the EAPC (European Association for Palliative Care), in Helsinki in 2025.
Where people are cared for and die is shifting. Respecting preferences is important. The EOLinPLACE Project Team has gone deeper to understand the diversity of preferred and actual dying places. The EAPC Public Health & Palliative Care Reference Group advocates for a public health approach to improve end of life care across settings.
A global reform of how dying places are classified is underway.
JOIN US for this consultation event and help us shape a pioneering International Classification of Dying Places. This is a major development for the field of palliative care.

The EOLinPLACE Project is led by Dr. Barbara Gomes at the University of Coimbra, funded by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement no. 948609). The project focuses on choices and diversity in end of life care pathways. It aims to create a pioneering International Classification of Dying Places to map preferred and actual places at the end of life.
