David Dirkx
Biography
David Dirkx began his career in 2014 as a registered nurse, working in both home care and the operating theatre/interventional radiology. In 2024, while completing his master's degree, he joined UHasselt's THINK3 Innovation and Simulation Lab, and in 2025 he obtained his MSc in Systems and Process Innovation in Healthcare. He continues to teach at UHasselt as a practice assistant in an introductory data science course for healthcare providers.
He works at VUB EOLC research group, where he supports the Train the Trainer programme for hospital educators, and contributes to research as a data collector, trainer, and workshop facilitator. Currently he is involved in training for RATHER-NH research project, pilot-testing a complex intervention aimed at reducing potentially avoidable hospital admissions from nursing homes.
