Charlotte obtained a Master in Adult Educational Sciences (2021) and an Educational Training Master (2023) at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and worked as a quality assurance officer for the Adult Educational Sciences programme and as scientific assistant at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel within the research groups ‘Society and Ageing Research Lab (SARLab)’ and ‘PArticipation and Learning in Detention (PALD)’. In 2025, she joined the End-of-Life Care Research Group as a doctoral researcher. As part of ‘COCO_ENV’, the interdisciplinary research program (IRP) of the Compassionate Communities Expertise Centre (COCO), Charlotte’s PhD centers on the role of the environment in shaping the experiences of individuals and communities during times of serious illness, caregiving, loss, death, dying and grief. In addition, Charlotte is part of the Society and Ageing Research Lab at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).
