Caressa Van Hoe

Caressa Van Hoe obtained her bachelor's degree in mental health nursing in 2014. While working at the psychiatric hospital Onzelievevrouw in Bruges on a ward that applied the Oyster Care model in the treatment of people experiencing severe and persistent mental illness, she completed her MSc in Nursing and Midwifery at Ghent University. She further combined clinical practice with research, working for two years at Palliative Care Flanders and another two years at KU Leuven where she developed and piloted a quality monitoring tool for Oyster Care. Since 2025, she has been working as an Advanced Practice Nurse in parallel with her PhD, focusing on a process and effect evaluation of the Oyster Care model.
