Anouck de Bruijn obtained a master’s degree in Science in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences (2016) at the University of Ghent. In 2018 she obtained a Certificate as a Reference Person for Dementia (Flanders Centre of Expertise on Dementia). Two years later (2020) she obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Neurogenic Communication Disorders at the Artevelde University of Applied Sciences (Ghent). She worked as a speech and language therapist for almost four years, specializing in neurogenic communication disorders. Since 2020 she is working in the regional Centre of Expertise on Dementia in Antwerp. In April 2023 she started working as a PhD student at the End-of-Life Care Research Group and NEUR (Neuroprotection and Neuromodulation) at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Combining her work in de Centre of Expertise on Dementia and doctoral research, she will develop a web-based tool for people with early-onset dementia and their (in)formal caregivers.
