It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 5th International Seminar of the EAPC Reference Group on Public Health and Palliative Care, which will take place from 10 to 11 March 2027 in the vibrant Caring Community Cologne.
This year’s seminar is organised by the Department of Palliative Medicine at the University Hospital of Cologne and the EAPC Reference Group on Public Health and Palliative Care, and will once again focus on exploring the significant intersection between public health and palliative care, with a particular emphasis on fostering community, connection and collective action.
Against the backdrop of Cologne’s famous cathedral “Kölner Dom” – a symbol of unity and strength – we will come together to exchange knowledge, stimulate innovation and strengthen our shared commitment to improving end-of-life care for all.
This seminar offers a unique platform for students, postdoctoral researchers, early-career academics and experienced researchers to exchange ideas, present current research findings and work together on solutions that take into account the social, cultural and systemic dimensions of palliative care.
On the eve of the International Seminar, 9 March 2027, there will be a German-language symposium entitled “Kompetent Leben – Inkompetent Sterben? (Living Competently – Dying Incompetently?)”.
With keynote speeches and workshops, it will provide an inspiring start to the 5th International Research Seminar in 2027.
We look forward to your active participation in shaping a future in which no one stands alone in facing the challenges of serious illness and end-of-life care.
